Imazon has received 22 awards and recognitions that demonstrate the relevance of its work for the conservation and socio-environmental development of the Amazon:

MapBiomas Network, of which Imazon is a member, received the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship’s Collective Social Innovation Award. The ceremony took place during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
2022

Awarded the Path to Sustainability Medal of Honor by the Instituto de Desenvolvimento Florestal e da Biodiversidade (Ideflor-Bio).

MapBiomas Network received the Skoll Award for Social Innovation from the Skoll Foundation.

Received the “Amazônia para Sempre” Diploma from the City Council of Belém.

The PrevisIA artificial intelligence deforestation prediction platform was recognized in IT Mídia’s award as a Microsoft case, in partnership with Imazon and Fundo Vale.

Imazon and Mineração Rio do Norte won 1st place in the Pará State Innovation Award in the Mineral Industry with the Sustainable Territories Program. The award ceremony took place during the XIII Pará Industry Fair.

Paragominas, in the state of Pará, won 1st place in the Municipalities category of the Chico Mendes Award, granted by Brazil’s Ministry of the Environment (MMA), thanks to the implementation of the Green Municipality Project, carried out in partnership with Imazon.

1st place in the Chico Mendes Award (NGO category) from Brazil’s Ministry of the Environment.

The Environmental Biosphere Institute and the Brazilian Institute of Specialized Studies (Ibrae) awarded the National Distinction Diploma in Environment, Sustainable Development, and Social Responsibility to Luis Carlos Estraviz Rodrigues, who was Chair of Imazon’s Board of Directors at the time.
