Who should attend?: This workshop is intended for participants who want to learn more about Imazon’s Deforestation Alert System, powered by Google Earth Engine
Imazon and Google invite you to participate in a hands-on technical training on Earth Engine for the Amazon, to be held on November 8-10, 2011 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The goals of this workshop are to:
Present tools from Google and Imazon for crowdmapping to monitor deforestation and forest degradation in the Pan-Amazonia region, including Imazon’s Deforestation Alert System, powered by Google Earth Engine, Google Android smartphones and Open Data Kit (ODK).
Identify potential organizations and individuals interested in crowdmapping and/or crowdsourcing verification of remote sensing derived products.
Define strategic actions to scale up forest monitoring and verification using Google Earth Engine and open source data collection technology.
This will be the first hands-on technical workshop for potential users of Imazon’s Deforestation Alert System, powered by Google Earth Engine. Please note that the training will be conducted in English.
